Hello, welcome to Underwood Opticians!

For over 50 years my family have proudly been in the Optical industry starting with my father Michael (Mike) Underwood. Mike managed opticians across the south and for the majority of his career in Eastleigh and then moved to Chandler’s Ford. My mother Susan Underwood has also worked in optics on and off for around 40 years. They met working at an opticians in Egham and soon married.

I began working with my parents in 2009 and qualified as a Dispensing Optician. I have worked in multiple and independent practices as well as doing domiciliary work which has given me a wide view of the optical sector and vast experience with many different spectacle frames and lenses.

On the 23rd December 2015 my family decided to take over Hampson Opticians from Roy and Lynne Hampson who started the practice in 2012. The practice has grown considerably in that time and we hope to continue the high standard of service set by Roy and Lynne.

We are committed to providing you with all that you need for your visual needs whether it be top of the range Essilor varifocals, designer sunglasses or contact lenses. We have spectacle frames ranging from £40 up to £195 so I am confident that you will find what you want in my practice. We can also provide sports wear and safety spectacles to help you enjoy your hobbies and work.
